Michael Rusk

The Prodigy

Don?t let his age fool you, 24-year-old Michael Rusk is no stranger to the industry. Finishing his first novel, ?Why Vegas Never Closes,? Michael built his name by exploiting flaws in public betting. With his economics and statistics background, Michael uses multiple algorithms pooling with recency bias to produce profitable picks. Sharp action, regression, fading the public and closing line value are all things he considers before finalizing his card. In the 2017 MLB season he was up 30.36 units ($3,036 for a $100 bettor), and he's crushing books on the hardwood with that same approach. It feels weird saying this, but at 14-28, the Reds seem to be catching their stride in May. Winning seven of their past eight, Joey Votto and crew are putting the early-season struggles behind them. They are eager Tuesday to face Giants lefty Ty Blach, who in two career games against the Reds has gotten outscored by 13 runs. Seeing as the Reds are a healthy underdog, I have no issue laying a price (-185) at +1.5 against one of the league's worst offenses.

Royals starter Ian Kennedy doesn't match up very well against this Rays lineup. Let's not forget late last season he didn't even last three innings after giving up a quick seven earned runs. The wheels have fallen off this season for Kennedy as retirement may be creeping up. I am projecting the Rays to jump on the Royals early Tuesday and coast to victory.

This is one of those games where you have to ask if the Dodgers are really going to get swept by the Reds at home. Last year, when Rich Hill pitched against the Reds in L.A., the Dodgers were -200. The result was a five-run victory. Because of a four-game losing skid, the Dodgers are at a very reasonable price. Don't overthink this game. The Dodgers are the play.

Four of Shohei Ohtani's five starts have exceeded the total for many reasons. He has an electric array of pitches, but the command isn't there yet for the 23-year-old rookie. Vegas is also tossing out a very low number due to Twins youngster Fernando Romero tossing 11.2 scoreless innings to start the year. I'm confident this game will go well above the 7.5 mark with the help of home plate umpire David Rackley, who has a 59 percent career Over total.

The last three starts Clayton Richard has had against the Cardinals, the Padres have won as underdogs each time. With such a rocky start to Richard's 2018 campaign, Sunday bettors are getting great value on the Padres. With only 36 percent of bettors tailing the Padres, that makes me even more confident they'll find a way to scrape out this win.
