LOSS

The Hawks played at Boston Saturday and now head to Orlando today, which seems like a big disadvantage for Atlanta. But the last five times playing the second game of back-to-backs, they Hawks have won outright in three of them and fell by one point in a fourth. Atlanta could lay an egg and get blown out for the third time by Orlando. I'll take all those points for an out-of-it team showing pride.

WIN

Charlotte is hanging in there in the win-loss column, but not in the cover-not cover column, where it's managed just two covers the last 10 games. Miami has won six of nine, the three losses by the Raptors, Bucks and Rockets. The run includes a seven-point win in Charlotte. The Heat have covered in six of eight against these Hornets. Miami doesn't have much of a homecourt advantage, but the Hornets are just 10-23 on the road this season. Take the hotter team to cover this small spread at home.

Serge Ibaka won't play again for the Raptors as he serves out his suspension. Facing Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, this is a game where his absence will be felt. This is also a game Kyle Lowry could have been big against the Pistons' subpar guard lineup, but he's hobbled by an ankle and is questionable. Detroit is in dire need of a statement win -- the Pistons will bring their best effort at home before embarking on a long road trip.

The Pacers have lost four in a row on the road, getting blown out by 19 and 17 to the Sixers and Bucks. Now they head to Denver to face a Nuggets team that's 29-6 at home and has covered in 66 percent of games at the Pepsi Center.

The Cavs are 6-7 over their last 13 games, a far cry from the horrid ball they were playing prior to getting Kevin Love back. It's also a far cry from a Mavs team that's lost 12 of 13. Luka Doncic went off for 35 points in the first meeting of these teams, a 13-point Mavs win, but he's not physically able to go off like that now. Love is in the lineup and Tristan Thompson may be back after 24 games off. Dallas is better at home, but it's lost five of six there, too. Take the points with the hotter team.
