Boston's offense is in a bit of a slump, but it's still the top-hitting team in the majors against right-handed pitchers and among the better road-hitting teams. The Twins are only .242 batting against LHPs, meanwhile, and Chris Sale's style especially highlights that issue. The Twins are just 3-10 against the AL East, while Boston is 19-6 as a road favorite so far.

Since May 26, the Cubs are undefeated when they score more than one run, a perfect 14-0. Look for two-plus runs Tuesday night against Rich Hill and his 6.20 ERA. The Dodgers haven't scored more than three runs in four straight games, but won three of them thanks to stellar pitching. The struggling offense is hitting .235 in the last week and is .234 against LHPs all year. Since being moved into a starting role, Chicago lefty Mike Montgomery has allowed three runs over 23.2 innings.

Washington's Erick Fedde had a 4.76 ERA in 11 minor-league starts and gave up four runs over five innings in one of his two MLB starts, against these Yankees. He's been susceptible to home runs, and now the Yankees have seen him. Sonny Gray's not lighting the world on fire, but if he can hold the Nats to two runs over five innings, New York's superior lineup and bullpen should be able to do the rest.

The Brewers are 12-3 when starting Jhoulys Chacin, and he was masterful against the Cubs his last outing, shutting them down for six innings. Trevor Williams, meanwhile, has allowed 25 runs over his last 21 innings pitched.

LOSS
Mon 6/18

Kansas City's fallen on hard times, losing six straight with an offense that's averaging under two runs per game over its last 11. At some point these trends need to be broken, and Monday seems like a good spot. Ian Kennedy has allowed one run over his last 13 innings, and he's had good success against the Rangers, whose current lineup is a lifetime 13-of-79 (.165) against him. Bartolo Colon allowed three runs over seven innings in a no-decision against KC on May 26, but in three starts since has a 12.71 ERA. Both offenses rank near the bottom of AL rankings, so I'll go with the hotter pitcher at home.
